So roller disco, by all rights, should have left its mark on my body and yes, I slept like a baby last night. What was surprising was how little my legs ached. The odd bit of stiffness, if you can even call it that, but on the whole nothing to complain of.
This might be because it was overshadowed by the pain in my wrist, though.
On my 25th birthday I and my then friends went to Edwards nightclub for a bit of a drink and a dance, as young people had a tendency to do before it burned down. At some point I slipped on some beer and fell forward, breaking my fall with my arms outstretched. Being somewhat intoxicated it wasn’t until many hours later that I noticed my wrist REALLY FUCKING HURT. I’d sprained it.
Sprained wrists are a bit of a bugger because while they get better they never really go away. When it’s damn and/or cold I get a bit of stiffness there but, to be honest, it’s not been a problem since I left my 20s.
Until last night when I lost my balance for the first (of many) times and fell forward, breaking my fall with my arms outstretched. Like an idiot.
I wasn’t even drunk.
It’s not that bad. I definitely haven’t done anything serious. If I had I wouldn’t be typing this here. But it’s got that dull throbbing annoying thing going on and changing gear when driving today was a pain. It’s like I’ve bruised it.
Ah, I’m just having a moan. I should be grateful that’s all that happened to me last night. There was a women stretchered off on a spine board. It’s a dangerous sport that roller disco.
I especially enjoyed the last paragraph, hoping the wrist works out better soon.
