Looking Down

On Tuesday I did my second Pecha Kucha talk at the official Birmingham Pecha Kucha night. Here’s the video:

If you’d like to see the slides more clearly here they are:

As expected it was a lot of fun although I kinda bent the rules a bit by not talking explicitly about each slide. I just had a few notes and made it up as I went along. This isn’t a problem but I think there’s a certain discipline in talking about a point for 20 seconds, no more no less, before moving onto the next one. I sort of just rambled over a slideshow.

Still, people seemed to enjoy it. Hope you do too.

All of the presentations are up here. I’m particularly keen on Sam Underwood’s unveiling of his year long sabbatical which looks dead exciting. Go Sam! But all the talks were great and I’d highly recommend both going to a PK night and presenting at one.

One Response to Looking Down

    Thanks Pete,
Followed the link to your site from your comment on Matt Calderwood’s film on the Guardian today. Really enjoyed your photos and video and now feel inspired to pick up my camera again and start a project on natural art – similar vein to your stuff in a way but I constantly see faces, animals and organic shapes on walls made by peeling paint or plasterwork and have long been thinking of photographing them as I believe there really is art, not only in nature but in erosion of manmade objects as well. As l’m based down in Seville in the south of Spain where there are many, many ancient buildings, I have a lot to go at! The light here is fantastic too!
Once again, thanks for inspiring me, I’ll share my results with you when the project is completed.
    Cheers for now,
    Chris Morgan
