Last year I tried the “remote delegate” model of asking people which panels they’d like me to attend on their behalf. It sort of worked but didn’t take into account that there are plenty of things going on at SXSWi that I have little interest in. It’s a huge event, after all, and you can easily ignore 80% of the goings on and still get a hell of a lot out of it.
So with that in mind I’ve gone through the panels on offer and liberally selected those relevant to my interests regardless of whether they clash. I’ll only go to two or three a day at most but this is the pool from which I’ll choose. If you think my going to one of them and blogging my thoughts would be useful I’d happily that that on board. And if you think I’ve missed something vital feel free to let me know.
So far there’s one panel I know I’ll definitely be going to: Merlin Mann and John Gruber’s HOWTO: 149 Surprising Ways to Turbocharge Your Blog With Credibility! which is guaranteed to be not only informative but bloody funny.
